Our family has prepared fried pies for four generations with a secret recipe that was passed down from our great grandmother. The buttery dough is made fresh daily, the fruit fillings are made from sliced fruit instead of canned fruit, seasonal pies are offered during peak harvests, and treats are made by hand.
As a close family, we all have memories of picking wild blackberries in a nearby thicket for making cobblers, or peeling Chilton County peaches for hours and hours during the hot summers, and those memories are why we continue to make pies. Every child in our family grew up making pies in Mamaw’s kitchen — we all kneaded dough, peeled fruit, stirred the filling, and wore flour like a badge of honor.
But making pies is more than a family tradition, it’s a way to bring people together. We want you to share in our memories of sugar, flaky dough and slowly cooked fruit. The desserts we carefully craft are more than ingredients in a bowl — they’re an experience.

Southern Fried Pies is a manufacturer of fried pies, fruit cobblers, cookies, cheesecakes and triple layer cakes. We supply Alabama restaurants, retailers and distributors with handmade treats that are crafted to be as natural as possible. This means our puddings are made from scratch, not from a box, and our cakes are made with real butter, freshly grated zest, and housemade cream cheese frosting. We put a lot of love into what we make, just like your grandmother, so that you can recall the tastes of your childhood favorites.
We opened our doors in 2008 as a manufacturer. We are FDA approved, Health Department approved, and Serve Safe certified. Because we are legally classified as a manufacturer, we cannot sell directly to the public quite yet.
